‘How do I report my neighbour for illegally removing hedgerows, without him knowing it was me?’

‘And could he sue me for defamation if he’s found not guilty?’

Query: Dear Mary Frances, I’m bothered by the actions of one of my neighbours, who I have seen removing internal hedgerows from his farm over the past two years.

At first I thought it was just a small bit of hedgerow that was jutting out into a field, I’d say it was only about 200m, but since then he has removed an entire ditch between two fields and replaced it with an electric fence.
