Dramatic drop in slaughterings as hogget quotes steady

First, the good news — while quotes for hogget fell by 20c/kg last week at the country’s biggest processor, Irish Country Meats, yesterday saw the ICM group hold quotes for hogget at last week’s level of €9.00+20c/kg quality assurance.
Now the not so good news, Dawn Ballyhaunis has now joined the two ICMs on a base of €9.00/kg for hogget, with a bonus of 10c/kg for quality assured stock, a downward adjustment of 20c/kg on their offering from last week.
