Irish weather: Scattered showers and sunshine forecast as temperatures set to rise during the week

It will be a cold, dry and bright start to the morning before some scattered showers spread eastwards across the country this afternoon.

Widespread sunshine will develop throughout the morning as mist and fog clears, though showers could turn heavy during the day.

Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees are expected, dropping to lows of 4 to 7 degrees overnight.

Met Éireann forecasts a cloudy night with some outbreaks of rain that will spread northeastwards and continue into tomorrow morning.

Monday will see cloudy, breezy conditions with some scattered showers and temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

These conditions will continue into Tuesday, though song longer spells of rain are expected along with some sunshine in the south and west of the country.

Mild temperatures continue, reaching highs of 10 to 13 degrees before dropping between 3 and 7 degrees overnight.

Sunshine and scattered showers will continue on Wednesday, along with the possibility of cloudier conditions in the east and northeast.

Thursday will again see mostly cloudy conditions with some sunny spells and outbreaks of showers, though temperatures will climb slightly higher to reach between 11 to 16 degrees.

Current indications from Met Éireann show dry and cloudy conditions for Friday and the coming weekend.
