Rathdrum 10

Rathdrum RFC’s Senior men travelled to Terenure RFC for the final of the Metro League Division 5 on Friday night. Following a great league campaign, Rathdrum finished in second place in the league, a single point behind Terenure which ensured home advantage for the Dublin side.

Despite a valiant effort, Rathdrum never got to grips with the 4G pitch and were unable to match the speed of Terenure on the all-weather surface with Terenure winning 32-10. Rathdrum points came from Conor Parsons and a try by Gavin Griffiths.

Overall, Rathdrum can be very happy with their season. A squad of almost 30 players has ensured good numbers at training and some memorable victories during the year.

Head coach Kevin Moes has re-ignited a desire for success and there is no doubt that Rathdrum will return stronger and focus on winning Division 5 next season.

The club send best wishes to Harrison Milne who returns to New Zealand following his work experience year in county Wicklow. Harrison was a key member of the Rathdrum pack, and the club wished him all the best in rugby and future career.
