Wexford FC Cup

Moyne Rangers ‘A’ cruised into the quarter-finals of the Wexford FC Cup as they hit Division 2 side Killenagh Wanderers for six goals without reply at Billy Browne Park on Sunday.

The Premier Division outfit were four goals to the good at the break, with Rory O’Connor, Pa O’Shea (two) and Lee Jordan hitting the back of the net. Jordan got his second goal on the hour mark, and Michael Ivers completed the scoring in the 72nd minute.

Neil O’Sullivan Cup

New Ross Celtic ‘A’ came out on the right side of a penalty shoot-out in Butlersland on Sunday as they got past All Blacks after a 1-1 draw to book their place in the Neil O’Sullivan Cup semi-final.

Jack Foran opened the scoring for the holders in the 20th minute, but All Blacks forced extra-time with a 90th-minute leveller from Dan Devereux. It was left to penalties to separate the sides, and the Barrowsiders prevailed 3-2 on spot-kicks.

Gorey Rangers ‘B’ joined them in the final four with a 4-1 victory against Kilmore United at Altura Credit Union Park. Early goals from Cormac Doyle and Eoin Murphy put Rangers in control, but Philip Tierney gave Kilmore hope when he halved the deficit in the 72nd minute.

However, Seán Roche restored the two-goal cushion with six minutes remaining and Ryan Keogh added their fourth moments later.

Billy Browne Cup

Rosslare Strand booked their place in the semi-final of the Billy Browne Cup by overcoming St. Cormac’s 5-3 after extra-time in a thrilling tie on Sunday.

Seán Redmond put Strand ahead in the 32nd minute and, although Eoin Gahan levelled matters, Shane Gorman scored in injury time to give the Rosslare side a half-time lead.Jamie Dempsey-Doyle bagged an 80th-minute equaliser to force extra-time, and St. Cormac’s got their noses in front five minutes into the first period through a Raymond O’Brien penalty.

Rosslare Strand finished strongly, however, and a Danny O’Reilly double plus a Pierce Dooley goal secured a 5-3 triumph.
