Taghmon jockey Seán O’Keeffe was among the winners on student day at Limerick on Thursday where he landed the two-mile handicap hurdle on 4/1 chance The Big Cloud.

Trained in Co. Meath by Shane Crawley, the six-year-old made much of the running and battled well to beat the Barry Fitzgerald-trained Boston Bongo by half a length.

Aidan O’Brien sent out a winner at Leopardstown last Wednesday as The Equator won a one-mile two-furlong maiden ahead of the Ryan Moore-ridden Ortellius (5/6 favourite).

The 7/2 shot, with Wayne Lordan on board, took the lead over a furlong out and quickened smartly to finish three and a quarter-lengths ahead of his better-fancied stablemate.

O’Brien and Ryan Moore teamed up to land a maiden at Dundalk on Friday evening as Mundi (7/2) kept on well to win a one-mile contest ahead of Dairago.

The duo were back in the winners’ enclosure again on Saturday as 7/2 chance Port Fairy battled well to see off Lady Doris by a neck in a one-mile two-furlong maiden.

O’Brien and Moore also took the following race as 11/10 favourite London City finished one and a half lengths ahead of Ozark Daze in another maiden.

Following a request from the Kilbeggan racecourse committee, their two-day fixture scheduled for Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26, will not take place.

Consequently, Horse Racing Ireland has announced that racing at Wexford will now take place on Thursday evening, April 25.

This meeting closes for entries by 12 noon this Thursday, April 18, with declarations to run to be made by 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.

This replaces the Wexford meeting from April 5 which was postponed due to the weather.
