Those awaiting social houses in the Enniscorthy Municipal District (EMD) may be in receipt of good news in the coming weeks as a number of new builds are set to be ready for tenants.

At An Glasan, Greenville Lane, Enniscorthy, eight one-bed apartments will be available by the end of June, and in Castlelands, Ferns, 20 houses, with six two-beds and 14 three-beds, are expected to be delivered within the same timeline.

Meanwhile, six properties on the Old Forge Road will be available for tenants in the coming months with two delivered by June, two more by the end of the year, and the last two by March of 2025. Those properties will all be two-beds.

At the April meeting of the EMD, housing officer Roseanne Redmond said issues with Uisce Éireann had held up the development but that the connection would be fixed in the coming days and the scheme completed by the end of Q2.

In further news, Ms Redmond confirmed that six three-bed semis in Templeshannon would soon be available to applicants via the council’s online choice-based letting system.
