Disruption to Dart and Luas services over Easter weekend

Dart and Luas commuters will be impacted this weekend as “major works” sees some services suspended.

The Dart service from Grand Canal Dock to Bray will not be in place from Saturday, March 30, to Easter Monday, April 1, due to several works being carried out on the line.

Overhead line renewal, track renewal, and train protection system works will take place between the two locations.

Dart services will not be running at Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Salthill and Monkstown Seapoint, Sandycove and Glasthule Dun Laoghaire, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, and Shankill.

Bus operations will be put in place to facilitate those commuting.

“Dart services between Grand Canal Dock and Bray will be suspended. Dublin Bus and Go Ahead will accept rail tickets on relevant services,” Irish Rail said in a statement.

“Dart services will operate between Howth/Malahide and Grand Canal Dock, and between Bray and Greystones.

“Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort Intercity will involve bus transfers between Dublin Connolly and Greystones,” Irish Rail added.

Meanwhile, the Luas will also see some services face partial closure this weekend.

Red Line services from Heuston to Blackhorse will have rail replacement works over three days during the Easter weekend from Saturday, March 30 to the Bank Holiday Monday, April 1.

Trams will run between Tallaght / Saggart and Blackhorse, and between Heuston and The Point only.

Destinations between the two lines include James’s, Fatima, Rialto, Sir Road, Goldenbridge and Drimagh, will see no services this weekend.

“A replacement bus service will run between Heuston and Blackhorse approximately every 15 minutes from Saturday March 30 to April 1, with some restrictions. Please allow extra time for travel,” a Luas statement says.

“A valid Luas ticket, TFI Leap Card, or Public Services Card with Free Travel is required to use the replacement bus service.”

Also, the Luas Green Line Stops between Dominick and St Stephen’s Green will be closed from first tram on Easter Sunday, March 31 until approximately 4pm to facilitate the Easter Commemoration Parade.
