I recently received a distressing letter from an anonymous reader, describing herself as “a slaved lady farmer” — a sentiment many farmers will identify with this year.
She refers to “the terrible rain and cold on the farm — the animals are cold wet and miserable, as I feel myself” and the mental burden of having to possibly go through the same again next winter.
