Eamonn Lonergan has steered Knockanore Cheese through changing markets since setting it up 37 years ago and now, with his accountant son Edward on board, succession is sorted – and they are focusing on selling their product overseas

‘It’s like myself, it gets better with age!” says Eamonn Lonergan about Knockanore Farmhouse Cheese, a business in West Waterford that he built 37 years ago with his wife Patricia.

In 2022, their son Edward, who was working as an accountant, moved back home to join the family firm, and they are working on taking their cheese abroad.
