Met Éireann has forecast a sunny Sunday before cooler weather is set to return next week.

Sunshine will continue on Sunday, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 18 degrees and largely dry weather, the national forecaster has said.

Meanwhile, it will be slightly cooler along the east coast.

There is the chance of a light shower and more cloud developing later in the afternoon.

Tonight will be dry with long clear spells for most parts of the country and the chance of a light rain. Later tonight, the cloud might build in the northern areas.

Temperatures will drop to 3 and 7 degrees with light breezes, as the mist and fog patches might develop.

Monday will bring a cloudy morning at first over Ulster. The cloud will later extend into the east and northwest through the morning and afternoon, bringing the possibility of some light showers.

There will be sunny and dry elsewhere, with temperatures set to hit 19 degrees. They will range between 12 to 15 degrees in Ulster and parts of north Connacht, while 15 to 19 degrees is expected elsewhere.
