GREYSTONES Community College celebrated the announcement that two of its Junior Cycle students achieved some of the highest results in Ireland in the State Examinations 2023.

Ella Macek (14) achieved the second highest grade in her Junior Cycle Graphics exams. To put this achievement in context, 15,000 students across the country take this subject from over 700 post primary schools. Ella’s grade was the second highest in the country, an astonishing achievement.

And in the subject of Applied Technology, Andrew Gaube (15) achieved an outstanding result in his Junior Cycle exam which placed him in the top 10 results in Ireland this year. Both Ella and Andrew were presented with certificates by the Technology Teachers Association.

These results are testament to the support provided by Graphics Teacher Mr Ciaran Doyle. Principal Mr Ruairi Farrell said it was “remarkable” for the school to have two students among the very best in the country in its very first year of Junior Cycle examinations. “It is with great pride that I congratulate Andrew, Ella and Mr. Doyle on this remarkable accomplishment on behalf of the whole school community,” he said.
