Olivia Rodrigo wore an Ireland-inspired T-shirt at her first of two sold out gigs at Dublin’s 3Arena last night.

The American singer is in town for her Guts world tour, kicking off the European leg on the Emerald Isle.

She’s back in the building tonight after adding a second date due to high demand, supported by artist Remi Wolf.

Concertgoers were thrilled to welcome Olivia back to Ireland two years after her gigs in Dublin and Cork in summer 2022, and she had some special surprises for them on the night.

As part of her encore, where she sings her hits ‘good 4 u’ and ‘get him back!’, the 21-year-old walked out onstage in a pair of purple sequined hot pants and a tank top with the words ‘every guy I like is Gaelic’ printed on it.

The t-shirt is play on words referencing a line from her song ‘ballad of a homeschooled girl’, in which she sings “every guy I like is gay”.

Olivia’s outfit choice delighted fans, also known as ‘Livies’, who said they appreciated the musician's big gesture.

One person wrote on social media: “Olivia wore a shirt saying ‘every guy I like is Gaelic’ tonight in Dublin!! I’m obsessed! It was so nice and cool for her to incorporate Ireland into it when she was performing here.”

Another said: “olivia rodrigo is sound on the national question anyways”.

A third chimed in: “olivia rodrigo coming to dublin and wearing a shirt that says ‘every guy i like is gaelic’ yup she ate that one thing.”

Another pointed out that Olivia’s new boyfriend, actor Louis Partridge, is English, making her statement nonsensical.

“The irony of olivia rodrigo wearing a ‘every guy i like is gaelic’ shirt when her bf is a brit,” they said.

Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter also debuted her song ‘so american’ in Dublin last night, and the crowd went wild at the new addition to the setlist.

Introducing the love song before performing it for the first time ever, she said: “I don’t know, no matter what I do, every time I’m in Dublin, I feel so American?”

Doors at the 3Arena will open once again tonight at 6.30pm, with Remi Wolf set to kick off her support set at 7.30pm.

Rodrigo is expected on stage at 8.30pm, and the gig is expected to finish just after 10.15pm.

All times are subject to change, so fans should give themselves extra time for arrival.
