HUNDREDS of people marched from the centre of Newtownmountkennedy down to the Garda barricades at Trudder on Sunday to show their opposition to plans to house people seeking international protection at River Lodge House.

Many protestors had also marched through the town on Saturday and some carried banners bearing slogans such as “You beat us with batons but you will not break us” and “Ireland is our homeland, we will not be replaced”.
