Rev Niall Stratford: The institution of Rev Niall Stratford took place in St Mary’s Church, Blessington, Co. Wicklow, on Friday, April 12, We wish Rev Niall well in his new parish and thank him for his dedication to Christ Church Bray during his time here.

Moving Schools: Along with Holy Trinity, Rathmines, Dublin Glendalough Youth Council (DGYC) is running a two-hour session to help sixth class pupils and their parents/guardians prepare for the big move to secondary school. Through the use of video, discussion, games, journals and chats, we will go on a journey exploring the feelings we face during a big change like this, the influences that shape us and the growth opportunities among the challenges. We will see how the Bible and God can help us all in this transition time, and there will be times for child and adult to discuss challenges and opportunities together, as well as a time for parents to hear from those who have children already in secondary school, and share concerns. Spaces may be limited so please make sure you book your place on dgyc.org. Car park Hours: These are from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, for parish business and at the weekends during church ceremonies. The cemetery is accessible via the laneway for pedestrians.

St Peter’s Cemetery: There is a strict policy of ‘No Dumping Allowed’ in any area of the cemetery. Visitors to the cemetery are requested to take home all forms of rubbish with them in order to keep the cemetery tidy. Your co-operation is appreciated.

Mass Times: Mass times are 9.30 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. No morning Mass on Thursdays and Saturdays. Saturday: 7 p.m. Vigil Mass; Sundays: 8 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.

Baptism: Baptisms take place on the first and third Saturday of each month at 12Noon. Bookings can be made through the parish office Only. The Preparation meeting takes place on the Monday before the first Saturday of the month. Please call into the parish office three weeks in advance of the baptism to complete the Baptism Form and to confirm the date.

Confessions: Are heard on Saturdays after the 7 p.m. Vigil Mass.

Marriage: All couples must give notice to the priest or parish secretary at least three months prior to the date of marriage.

Poetry in the Park

Takes place on the First Sunday of Every Month at midday on the bandstand in the People’s Park, Lower Dargle Road, Bray. Listen to or read your favourite poems, hear original poetry performed by local poets or simply chat with other poetry fans in this beautiful outdoor setting on the banks of the River Dargle.

Darkness into Light

Bray Lions Club is organising the Darkness into Light Charity Walk which takes place at 4.15 a.m. this Saturday morning. The walk, which supports Pieta, the suicide counselling charity will take walkers from and back to the Seafront and will include a performance by the Bray Ukelele group. This year’s Bray Darkness into Light (DIL) is sponsored by Ballymore, Pettitt’s SuperValu and the Martello. Bray Lions will provide stewarding and logistics with hot beverages, water and snacks at the conclusion of the walk.
