Irish Rail is to operate a shuttle train service over the Easter bank holiday weekend between Greystones and Bray as engineering works will once more mean that on Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday Monday (March 30 – April 1), Dart services will operate between Howth/Malahide to Grand Canal Dock and between Grand Canal Dock to Howth/Malahide only.

There will be no train service between Grand Canal Dock and Bray/Greystones.

Stations at Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Seapoint, Salthill & Monkstown, Dun Laoghaire, Sandycove & Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill and Bray will be closed for the full three days.

The transport provider has now advised that a shuttle service will operate between Bray and Greystones.

It follows a recent meeting between councillors in Greystones and Irish Rail, when Councillor Stephen Stokes requested such a service in the event no works are planned on this section of the line.

"I am delighted that Irish Rail agreed to this request,” Cllr Stokes said. “Of course, there will still be disruption for many people, but hopefully this will make travel a little easier. I am grateful to Irish Rail for making this request a reality."

Cllr Stokes has advised that the shuttle trains on Saturday, March 30, 2024, will operate at normal Saturday times.

The shuttle trains on Sunday, March 31, and Monday, April 1 will operate at Sunday service times.

"I would like to especially commend the Bray Station Manager, Ciaran Devitt, for his vision and leadership to make this happen. He is brilliant to work with. This commitment is good news,” Cllr Stokes concluded.

Irish Rail said Dublin Bus/Go-Ahead Ireland will accept valid rail tickets on services between closed stations.

Rail users should also note that disruptions will affect services on the following dates:

Saturday May 4 to Monday May 6

Saturday May 18

Sunday June 9

On these dates, once more DART services will operate between Howth/Malahide to Grand Canal Dock and between Grand Canal Dock to Howth/Malahide only. There will be no train service between Grand Canal Dock and Bray/Greystones.
