Two Sligo men jailed for violent street attack on father and son

Dad tells court he felt helpless that he couldn’t protect his son from harm

A father whose 17-year-old son was beaten unconscious and subsequently suffered a fit during an unprovoked attack on a Sligo street said he felt helpless that he couldn’t protect his child from harm.

Two weeks ago, a jury of six men and six women at Sligo Circuit Court found Jack Gorevan (24) of Cranmore Place and Justin Gethins (22) of Langan Drive, Cranmore guilty of assault causing harm to Ethan McMorrow (20) and with committing causing violent disorder on September 1, 2021 at Pearse Road.
