Night and Day has announced the winner of its 2024 song contest in association with Soundcaster Studios and Paddy Jordan Recording.

The school aged category was won by 17-year-old Ethan Henry from Toreen in County Mayo.

Ethan impressed the judges with his song "Lost in Space".

Ethan embarked on his musical journey about five years ago, instantly captivated by its allure.

Inspired greatly by his father, Ethan found his initial motivation to delve into music.

His songwriting endeavours stem from a desire to forge connections with others, addressing authentic experiences within our world.

On winning the competition Ethan stated, " Winning this competition feels surreal and having a studio for a day means I can finally start recording for my album that I’m hoping to bring out in the next year."

Dublin based act Dark Isle has been crowned the overall winner with their song, "Shallow".

The song contest supports independent artists by providing the resources needed to record their music and a platform to perform at the Night and Day Festival.
