With a bumper four days of free open-air entertainment on offer at this year’s Féile Lughnasadh, organisers of the popular Milltown festival have launched a major fundraising campaign this week.

With over €3,000 in prize money available, the committee has announced details of Mystery Money Madness, with tickets going on sale in the locality over the coming weeks.

Among the headline acts for the August bank holiday weekend festival this year are Killarney trad sensations, The Rising, the high-octane Pólca 4 and the renowned trad quintet Four Men & A Dog.

Féile Lughnasadh 2024 also features music sessions, competitions, holistic therapy taster sessions, an open-air céilí, and the ever-popular Lughnasadh parade and bonfire.

The new fundraiser will see the sale of tickets which are priced between €00.01 and €25.00 in sealed envelopes. Every buyer has the chance to win a first prize of €2,500 and other cash prizes too.

“Féile Lughnasadh is run by a voluntary committee and offers four days and nights of free entertainment and is now in its third year,” said committee chairperson, Turlough O’Brien.

“To make it happen, we need the financial support of the local community which is why we came up with Mystery Money Madness.”

“The concept is simple: you buy your ticket which is in a sealed envelope. Every ticket is priced between one cent and €25 so for as little as a few cents, you have the chance to win over €3,000 in cash prizes. Every cent raised will go directly towards our running costs,” said Turlough.

Ticket sellers will be out and about over the coming weeks and every support is appreciated. For more on this year’s Féile Lughnasadh, find them on Facebook and Instagram.
