Scheme to help improve appearance of buildings in Cork area announced

Priority will be given to derelict buildings under the scheme, according to the council

Tenants and property owners in the Fermoy area can now apply to a special scheme to help them improve the overall appearance of their building.

The Fermoy Municipal District Streetscape Painting, Signage and Improvement Scheme for 2024 has been announced by Cork County Council and under this, tenants and owners may apply for financial assistance to help them improve their building’s appearance.

Tenants and owners in the towns of Fermoy and Mitchelstown and the villages of Ballyhooly, Castlelyons, Castletownroche, Conna, Doneraile, Glanworth, Glenville, Kildorrery, Kilworth and Rathcormac may apply for the scheme.

The council has said that priority for the scheme will be given to derelict properties.

Application forms and information on the scheme are available from Cork County Council Offices in Fermoy and Mitchelstown and the closing date for the scheme is Friday, May 31.
