Co Laois GAA club ransacked during Bank Holiday weekend burglary
Windows in the Graiguecullen GAA Clubhouse were smashed and stock was stolen
A GAA club in Co Laois is urging for help following a burglary at the club’s clubhouse over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Graiguecullen GAA club in Co Laois was left shocked when it was discovered that the clubhouse had been attacked and ransacked over the weekend by vandals.
A car parked at the premises was damaged and windows in the clubhouse were smashed by perpetrators to gain entry into the building on Monday May 6.
An amount of stock has been reported stolen from the premises.
In pictures posted on social media by the GAA club, two windows in the clubhouse are pictured smashed with glass on the ground. A picture of a car with a smashed window has also been posted.
"If anyone has seen any activity or persons in the grounds and clubhouse of Graiguecullen GAA in the early hours of Sunday May 5/ Monday May 6 between 1am and 6am please contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620 to help with investigations,” urged a spokesperson from Graiguecullen GAA Club.
"We appreciate your help and support at this time.”
A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána confirmed that investigations into the burglary are underway.
"Gardaí are investigating an incident of burglary at the grounds of a GAA club in Graiguecullen, Co Laois on Monday May 6,” said the spokesperson.
"An amount of stock has been reported stolen from the premises.
"Investigations are ongoing,” they concluded.
