Nine University of Limerick (UL) students were incorrectly awarded master’s degrees between 2011 and 2012 despite having inadequate grades — but the issue only emerged last year. Two other graduates had their qualifications revoked a year ago after sitting exams in 2021.

Student representatives warned the university’s president such mistakes could have “possible harmful impacts on students, society and the university”.
