Notions and necessities: From yoga festivals to stage plays, wellies and wrinkle creams, it’s all here
NOTION
Mellow midlands Find a midsummer full day of zen in Westmeath on July 7, as The Yoga Picnic returns at Lilliput House on the banks of Lough Ennell. Choose from a line-up of yoga classes — including on paddle boards on the lake — meditation, saunas, ice baths and talks on nutrition. Headline names include teachers Adam Husler and Silvia Schneider from overseas and plenty of local limber luminaries. Day passes include almost all classes, but some have an add-on cost. Children go free. SC Adult day pass, €85; see theyogapicnic.com
NECESSITY
Jumping in muddy puddles Waterford footwear firm Polly & Andy has added wellies to its line. Made from FSC-certified natural rubber and featuring a supersoft bamboo lining, they come in sizes from toddler to adult UK size 7. LH Rainboots, from €38, see pollyandandy.com
NECESSITY
On your bike Decathlon’s new LD 920 E automatic electric bike arrives with a higher price point than its other ebikes, but add-on features make it well worth considering. Gears that shift automatically according to terrain are a nice bonus. But given that theft is a major issue with ebikes, the addition of an app that will alert you if the bike is moved — and allow you to alert gardaí — and tell you its new location is an addition well worth having. SC €3,100, see decathlon.ie
NECESSITY

Mind the gap The Avoca store at Kerry’s Moll’s Gap has reopened and it’s in one of the most scenic spots in the country.
