Ireland striker Callum Robinson will get the opportunity to rejoin the Cardiff City squad for the last three games of the season after he was axed for disciplinary reasons.

Robinson was left out of the City squad by manager Erol Bulut for an undisclosed matter related to club discipline.

The 29-year-old, who has scored twice in 24 games for Cardiff this season, has since held clear-the-air talks with his club boss and following an apology, he’s been given permission to rejoin the squad.

“With Robbo, we had a talk, so he knows what mistake he did, he accepted it, so when everything is OK he can also be back with the team,” Bulut said as Cardiff prepare to face Southampton on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick is confident that there is more to come from their £3m signing, new Ireland cap Finn Azaz.

“I think playing games helps,” said Carrick. “Finn’s settled in and has been around the group for two to three months now, but there is more to come from him, for sure.

“That’s not putting extra expectations on him. He’s a lad that is desperate to do well and wants to improve all the time, and it’s great to have players like that.

"There is certainly more to come, he’s still young and I think he’s showed what he is capable of and I’m now looking forward to help bringing out the best in him.”
