The 2024 season is now underway after Wicklow Sailing Club launched their boats back on the water.

With the SSE Renewables Round Ireland Yacht Race set for June 22, Wicklow Sailing Club is working hard behind the scenes planning this iconic race.

Another successful lift took place recently as the boats were lifted by crane and placed on the water.

Oonagh Healy, Communications Officer with Wicklow Sailing Club, said: “There was a real sense of eagerness amongst everyone in the boat park with wonderful teamwork and club spirit paving the way for a great summer on the water.

“A lot of work is taking place preparing for the SSE Renewables Round Ireland Yacht Race. Wicklow town is the place to be with so much action both on and off the water. Race organisers are keen to encourage as many people as possible to come down and enjoy the atmosphere around the sailing club and up on Black Castle. It is always such an impressive and exciting start to what can only be described as the ‘Kilimanjaro’ of ocean racing.”
