Wicklow independent candidate and LGBTQIA+ advocate to contest local elections

Lee Donnelly, a dedicated advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and affordable housing, has officially announced their candidacy for the Bray East constituency in the upcoming local elections.

With a commitment to inclusivity and social justice, Lee Donnelly said they bring a fresh perspective to the political landscape of Bray.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Lee said they understand the importance of diverse representation in government and aims to be a strong voice for all residents of Bray East.

Lee's platform prioritises addressing the housing crisis that has affected so many in the community. With a focus on housing for all, Lee believes they are dedicated to implementing solutions that ensure every individual and family has access to safe, affordable housing.

"In Bray East, we have an opportunity to create real change and ensure that everyone in our community is heard and supported," they said.

"I am honoured to run for office and pledge to work tirelessly to address the pressing issues facing our constituents, including housing insecurity and the need for LGBTQIA+ representation in government."

Lee Donnelly's campaign is “built on the principles of equality, fairness, and progress”.

"With a strong commitment to serving the people of Bray East”, Lee said they are “ready to bring positive change to the community”.

There are four seats available on Wicklow County Council for Bray East and currently eight candidates set to run for election on June 7.
