On Easter Sunday night, the past pupils, teachers and friends celebrated the 50th anniversary of St. Brendan’s NS, Bannow closing its doors.

The school closed on September 21, 1973, with the 25 boys and 21 girls transferred to Danescastle NS, Carrig on Bannow.

The night started off with MC Michael Murphy reminiscing on days of old, with stories of past pupils and teachers. Refreshments were then served by The Country Bistro and the cake was cut by two former teachers Maura Quigley and Celestine Fox.

Music was provided by The Wicklow Man. A great night was had as they reminisced on their time as classmates together and danced the night away.

The organisers wish to thank Fr Jim Kehoe and Michael and Annette Murphy for their sponsorship.
