The popular walking trail in Ramsfort Park is set to benefit from minor maintenance works following the bad weather recently.

Gorey Community Development Group (GCDG) have managed the trail since April 9, 2024 to ensure the trail is well maintained and monitored.

GCDG is working in collaboration with Wexford Walking Trails to carry out the minor maintenance works to help resolve some ponding and drainage issues affecting part of the trail.

A spokesperson for GCDC said: “Coillte's decision to facilitate the installation of water drains has exposed a part of the woodland near the trailhead. We look forward to continuing to work with Coillte to identify an appropriate solution for replanting the exposed area.”

“Overall the purpose behind GCDG’s management of the trail is to ensure that the trail’s long term development will be at the top of the agenda for investment in the coming years,” said a spokesperson for the GCDG.
