Sligo Airport will host a fly-in to raise funds for the families of the two rally competitors who were killed in Sligo last year.

The Sligo Charity Fly-In, in association with Deja Vu North-West ‘24 takes place at Sligo Airport, Strandhill on Sunday 28th April, 9.30am-4pm.

Up to 50 aircraft, from all across Ireland, will land at Sligo Airport during the ‘Planes, Cars and Coffee’ charity event which will raise funds for the families of Gene McDonald and Daire Maguire who tragically died during the Sligo Stages Rally last July. Spectators are very welcome to this family friendly, free event.

Funds raised for the ‘Rallying Friends appeal’ through aircraft registration for the event will be donated to Gene and Daire’s families. A 76-page souvenir brochure on sale (€15) at the event will also add to the funds raised. Sponsors have donated through advertising in the brochure.

In addition to the spectacular aircraft on show more than 80 retro rally cars will be on display as part of the Deja Vu North-West 3-day rally event. Visitors can also enjoy delicious home-produced goods at the People’s Food Market that will feature 60 local stalls in the airport grounds. The ever-popular Airport Café will also be open during the event.

The ‘Planes, Cars & Coffee’ Sligo Fly-In is supported by Derrin Group.

Conor Gilligan, CEO, Derrin Group said, “We are delighted to support this event and its Rallying Friends fundraiser and wish everyone involved in Deja Vu North-West ‘24, all the best for a successful and enjoyable day. Let’s hope the sun shines!”
