Sligo LEADER Partnership Company, in collaboration with local and national stakeholders, successfully hosted an event centred on the theme "The Circular Economy: Shaping a Sustainable Future." at The Model.

It brought together a diverse array of participants, including thought leaders, innovators, and changemakers from various sectors.

The event commenced with an opening address by John Feerick, CEO of SLP, and Fintan Kennedy, Chairperson of SLP, setting the tone for the day's discussions. Throughout the day, attendees were treated to engaging presentations and interactive sessions focusing on different aspects of the circular economy, delivered by Sam Marchetti, Patrick Mulvihill , Emma Kavanagh, and John Logue.

Former RTE journalist Ciaran Mullooly was the Master of Ceremonies. With his adept guidance, the event flowed seamlessly, ensuring that discussions were dynamic and engaging. Ciaran expertly navigated through the agenda, providing valuable context and insights throughout the day's proceedings.

The event's agenda featured thought-provoking discussions on topics ranging from social procurement and clustering to circular case studies and community networks. Attendees actively participated in an open discussion, exploring ways to integrate circular economy principles into their respective organisations.

Another highlight of the event was the emphasis on practical applications of circular economy principles, demonstrated through case studies like the CLASP Pilot and presentations on social enterprise initiatives. These sessions provided valuable insights into real-world implementations and inspired attendees to consider innovative approaches to sustainability.

The event also served as a platform for networking and collaboration, allowing attendees to connect with like-minded individuals and organisations passionate about driving positive change in Sligo and beyond. Attendees had the opportunity to share ideas, forge new partnerships, and explore potential avenues for collaboration.
