It was so long in coming, we almost forgot how to celebrate, but once we remembered we let loose an eruption of sound that reverberated off the Cooley mountains to engulf the whole of Dundalk.

The man who detonated the wall of sound that was primed with 462 minutes of sheer frustration was a 23-year-old Englishman from Dewsbury, Scott High, for when he hit the Bohemians net in the 12th minute of Friday's SSE Airtricity Premier Division game at Oriel Park, he was writing his own page in the club's long and illustrious history.
