I was at a fifth birthday party last weekend when the conversation turned to schools. Our offspring attend preschool together, and will all be starting primary school in September. Emotions are running high, ahead of the transition. Parents’ emotions, that is.

I’m fortunate, in that my son will be joining his brother in a local Educate Together school we’re really happy with. Many of the other parents were deep in the school selection process, quoting three-digit numbers from waiting lists, and agonising over which school was right for their little one.
