Defence Forces confirm safety of Irish troops after UN military observers and Lebanese interpreter injured on patrol

The Defence Forces has confirmed that no Irish personnel were involved in a patrol which saw three United Nations military observers and a Lebanese interpreter injured.

"Our troops in Lebanon are all accounted for, safe, and continue to carry out their roles and responsibilities as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL),” a spokesperson said.
